Shriners gives $27,000 to transport ill children

Advertiser Staff

The Maui Shrine Club celebrated its 65th anniversary by presenting a $27,000 check to Potentate Karvel Rose of the Honolulu Aloha Temple for deposit in the nonprofit Children's Patient Transportation Fund.

The fund pays for transportation for patients and their parents to get treatment in Honolulu. The Maui Shrine Club also conducts several children's clinics on Maui each year, with more than 460 children seen during clinics in Kahului last year.

For information on the Maui Shrine Club or to make a donation, call Jeff Brown at 877-6328.
