A 26-year-old Kapa'a man charged with attempted first-degree murder in connection with a drive-by shooting Friday on Kaua'i has a 1 p.m. preliminary hearing scheduled tomorrow at District Court.

Taekyu U is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail at the Kaua'i Community Correctional Center. A boy, 17, arrested with U was sent to the Alder Street juvenile detention facility in Honolulu pending Family Court action.

The pair were arrested at Lydgate Park shortly after the 11 p.m. shooting was reported at the McDonald's restaurant in Kapa'a. No injuries were reported, but the restaurant was damaged, police said.
