Public relations and marketing agency Bright Light Marketing has hired Scott Ishikawa as vice president. Previously, Ishikawa spent five years at the state Department of Transportation and 12 years as a reporter for The Honolulu Advertiser and Sun Press newspapers.

REHABILITATION HOSPITAL OF THE PACIFIC FOUNDATION

Louis Vuitton regional vice president Dale Ruff has been appointed to the board of the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific Foundation. He has been with Louis Vuitton for more than 25 years.

PRINCE RESORTS HAWAII

Prince Resorts Hawaii has appointed Jon Gersonde general manager of The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. Previously, he was general manager of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel since 2005.

ALOHA UNITED WAY

Aloha United Way has promoted Naomi Amuro to assistant vice president/executive secretary, serving as the liaison between the president, volunteers and Aloha United Way staff to ensure a smooth-running organization.

Brett Kerr has been promoted to assistant vice president of the community building division, responsible for allocating funds to partner agencies, managing the emergency food and shelter program and assisting in the implementation of Aloha United Way's community impact issues.

ROYAL STATE NATIONAL INSURANCE COMPANY

Royal State National Insurance Company has appointed Douglas Murata its president and chief executive officer. Murata most recently served as director of human resources for Hawaii SuperFerry. Before that, Murata was chief strategic development officer for the Honolulu Board of Water Supply.

St. Francis Healthcare Foundation of Hawaii has appointed John Keene foundation programs director, responsible for overseeing fund development, capital campaigns and financial investments.

Hawthorne Pacific Corp. has promoted Bobby Whitworth to general manager, responsible for day-to-day business operations, focusing on product support, environmental/safety and facilities.

Hoana Medical has named Heather Herdman vice president of nursing, research and patient safety. Most recently, Herdman was executive vice president of Matousek and Associates, where she led the medFOCUS Research division.
