ROYAL HAWAIIAN CENTER WORK DONE

Kamehameha Schools today recognizes the completion of its $115 million renovation of Royal Hawaiian Center after two years of work that expanded Waikiki's largest shopping mall, created a more inviting look to the former bunkerlike complex and introduced many new tenants.

However, 35 of 110 tenants at the 310,000-square-foot mall have yet to open, including an Apple store, a 30,000-square-foot flagship location for retailer Hilo Hattie and the $22 million theatrical production Waikiki Nei.

Remaining tenants are expected to open over the summer after they complete interior construction.
