Artist Leland Miyano discusses work Saturday

Advertiser Staff

Kahaluu-based sculptor and naturalist Leland Miyano will give a free talk on his work 10 a.m. Saturday at the Doris Duke Theater.

Miyano, 2008 recipient of the Honolulu Academy of Arts' biennial Catharine E.B. Cox Award, has created three installations at the museum for the exhibition Historia Naturalia et Artificialia.

Miyano will talk about how his art speaks to man's symbiotic relationship with nature, as well as talk specifically about some of the pieces he has on display.
