Join us as we take a tour on the PGA Tour with Parker McLachlin, a former Punahou athlete. McLachlin earned his PGA Tour card for this season. He joins Castle alum Dean Wilson as the only Hawai'i golfers on the PGA Tour. McLachlin, Waikoloa's touring pro, will write his impressions on events that he's just completed and tournaments that are upcoming on his calendar.

Hey everyone.

So, it's my first week back in three weeks. I got off to a good start last week at the Buick Open. I felt rusty the first nine but still shot a few under. The second day I played great, but I just couldn't make any putts at all. It was so frustrating.

So, because I had the weekend off, my wife and I saw THREE movies. "Wall-E" was the best. There is a deeper message behind the robots and the animation. We really enjoyed it. It lacked some dialogue, but I hope it's considered for an Oscar.

Monday was British Open qualifying. Just to try to qualify here in the states (Michigan) is cool, but it wasn't a big links test. We played a tree-lined golf course that doesn't necessarily "weed" out the best players for a British Open track. I played really well and to shoot 68-69 and miss by two shots was tough to take.

I put the new Titleist driver into play over the break and it's just awesome. It looks like an older model I used to play and I really got a good feel for it. This club is going to be special when it hits the market. It's called the 909D2. I can't wait to see what you all think of it.

Now I'm here at Tiger's tournament (AT&T National) in Washington. Congressional is just such a classic layout. Even though Tiger can't play, I'm really excited to play and make some noise.

I'm playing with Matt Kuchar, one of my best friends on Tour. Secretly, I think we have an advantage knowing that we get to play with each other.

So what was my favorite moment from my week off: Sleeping in my bed! You don't realize how much you appreciate it until you get to have it for three weeks.

Mahalo for now, and I'm looking forward to updating you after Washington.

Hopefully, I'll run into Barack Obama this week!
