Vehicle registration now can be renewed online

Maui County vehicle registration can now be renewed online at www.mauicounty.gov/mvrrenewal. The new service allows payments to be made by credit card or electronic check.

Vehicles currently registered in the county are eligible for online renewal if the safety check is current and the registration is at least 10 days away from expiring. Owners must have received a renewal notice by mail, and the notice must indicate a current mailing address.

The vehicle's license plate number and the last four digits of the vehicle identification number will be required to complete online renewal. The administrative costs will vary and will be disclosed prior to the final confirmation of payment.

The Division of Motor Vehicles & Licensing also announced that its satellite offices in Kihei, Lahaina and Pukalani have expanded operations from four days to five days a week. Hours are 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays.
