Honolulu resident Anthony Luafalealo has launched Amateur Economists, an online magazine for noneconomists. The first issue appeared Sunday at www.amateureconomists.com and included articles on healthcare, economics in fiction and the economics of laws. Another piece explores the accuracy of U.S. economic indicators.

"Economics is the study of choices," said Luafalealo in a press statement. "The goal of Amateur Economists is to examine our world today through choices."
