Advertiser Staff

The former Pride of Aloha cruise ship yesterday returned to Miami after completing the transformation back to its old identity as the Norwegian Sky.

The ship was one of three that Norwegian Cruise Line had based in Hawai'i for interisland cruises. The company has scaled back to one cruise ship based in the Islands and transferred the other two to other regions.

Today, Norwegian Sky returns to Miami and will begin sailing three- and four-day Bahamas cruises next Monday. The ship recently underwent a two-month wet dock in Freeport, Bahamas, and now includes a casino,

First launched in 1999, Norwegian Sky has more than 240 balcony staterooms, and includes seven restaurants, nine bars and lounges, multiple entertainment venues, two pools, children's facilities and a sports deck and a variety of spacious public rooms.

It became Pride of Aloha in 2004 and sailed Hawai'i interisland cruises until May 2008.
