Hazardous waste dropoff this weekend on Kauai

LIHU'E – Kauai County officials announced that the annual hazardous waste collection for residents is scheduled this weekend, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the following locations:

• Hanalei transfer station and the Department of Public Works' Kapa'a base yard, located at the end of Kahau Road near the Kaua'i Recycles drop bins – Saturday, July 12.

• Hanapepe and Lihu'e transfer stations – Sunday, July 13.

Unwanted hazardous products will be accepted for safe disposal at no charge including: aerosols; anti-freeze; batteries; cleansers; fluorescent bulbs; gasoline; paint thinners; pesticides; solvents and more.
