Lyon Arboretum to open Saturday

Advertiser Staff

Starting this Saturday the Lyon Arboretum in MaŻnoa Valley will be open for visitors from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

For the past several years, the Arboretum has been open to the public only during weekdays, limiting its accessibility to the community and to families who cannot visit during the week.

"These extended hours will allow so many more people to experience it and to appreciate it," said Jill Laughlin, the Arboretum's education and outreach manager.

The Harold L. Lyon Arboretum is a unit of the University of Hawai'i at MaŻnoa.

It is a 193-acre tropical rainforest located in the head of the MaŻnoa Valley and is open to the public.
