SPRECKELSVILLE
Foundation gives another $25,000 to food program

The Alexander & Baldwin Foundation has contributed another $25,000 to Kaunoa Senior Services' nutrition program.

The program administers the Congregate Meals and Meals on Wheels services. The former provides meals and socialization opportunities for people 60 and older at nutrition centers around the county. The Meal on Wheels program delivers hot, nutritious midday meals to people who are elderly, home-bound and unable to prepare their own food.

A&B has contributed annually to Kaunoa's nutrition program since 1975.

On June 30, company representatives Garret Hew, Naomi Okazaki and Diane Bevilacqua presented the latest $25,000 donation to county officials at a "Freedom Fest" celebration held at the Kaunoa Senior Center and attended by about 300 seniors.
