Mililani A Broncos triumph

Mililani A defeated 'Aiea, 17-5, to capture the PONY Bronco (ages 11-12) Regional Tournament this past weekend at Hanapepe Ball Park on Kaua'i.

Mililani A finished the eight-team tournament with a 3-0 record in pool play and a 3-0 record in the double-elimination portion.

Mililani A advances to the PONY Bronco West Zone Tournament, July 31 to Aug. 3, at Valencia, Calif.


FOOTBALL

ANOTHER SATELE TO UH

Landon "Liko" Satele, younger brother of Hawai'i middle linebacker Brashton Satele, will be joining the Warriors as a defensive end.

Satele, a 2007 graduate of Word of Life, is transferring from Lambuth University in Jackson, Tenn.

Satele reports to the team Aug. 25, the first day of the fall semester.

PUNAHOU CLINIC JULY 26

Punahou will host a football clinic for students in grades three to eight on July 26.

Cost is $40 per player and includes a Nike T-shirt, water bottle and snack. Clinics will be held at the school's Alexander Field.

For students in grades three to five, their clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to noon. The clinic for students in grades six to eight is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Signup deadline is Saturday. After that, entries will be accepted on a space availability basis.
