Tennis: Cornet, Klepac in Budapest GP final

BUDAPEST, Hungary — Alize Cornet of France defeated Greta Arn of Hungary 6-1, 6-1 in 100-degree temperatures at the Budapest Grand Prix today to gain Sunday's final against Andreja Klepac of Slovenia.

Klepac also handled the heat in outlasting Karolina Sprem of Croatia 6-2, 4-6, 6-4. Sprem took a 3-0 lead in the third set before Klepac won five straight games.

"I'm very glad to have this match in my bag today," Klepac said. "I had difficult moments but I managed to recover."

The second-seeded Cornet won six straight games after losing her opening serve. Arn also won the first game in the second set, but Cornet's relentless play was again too much for Arn.

"Greta played well," Cornet said, "but I won because I focused on every point, which was not easy in this heat."
