Wie shoots 71; Creamer continues to lead LPGA tourney

Advertiser News Services

Honolulu's Michelle Wie shot an even-par 71 today and was tied for 54th after the third round of the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic at Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, Ohio.

Paula Creamer, who will go after a wire-to-wire victory tomorrow, shot a 70 and had a four-stroke lead at 18-under 195. Eun-Hee Ji was alone in second at 199 after a 68 today. Wie, a Punahou alum, was at 213.

Wie was 1 under after starting on the back nine, but a double-bogey on the par-4 No. 5 put her at 1 over. She birdied the par-5 No. 7 and finished with pars at Nos. 8 and 9.

Creamer will be going after her third win of the season. She won the Fields Open in Hawaii in February and the SemGroup Championship in May.
