Those ono scents wafting over Kapi'olani Park don't come from just any barbecue. It's the seventh annual Korean Festival, which aims to share the culture through much food, dance, art, music and other entertainment and displays.

Among the scheduled attractions:

• 10 a.m.: Traditional farmers' harvest music

• 10:47 a.m.: Tae kwon do demonstration

• 12:45 p.m.: Court dances

• 1:45 p.m.: Kim chee eating contest

• 7 p.m.: K-pop star Kim Se-hwan

Also: There's hula at 11:22 a.m., and a performance by the Royal Hawaiian Band at 11:50 a.m.

We did mention food, didn't we? Log on to www.koreanfestivalhawaii.com for recipes — kalbi, bibim gooksoo (spicy mixed noodles) and dongchimi gooksoo (cold noodles in soup) — you can make at home if you haven't filled up at the festival.

Proceeds from the event go toward service projects in the Korean community and beyond. Park at Kapi'olani Community College and catch the free shuttles.⁡
