Stealing $3 leads to two drug arrests

Advertiser Staff

Two men who allegedly used force to hold down a 43-year-old man while searching his pockets to steal $3 were found with a crack cocaine pipe and marijuana in their possession last night.

The suspects, both 22, were arrested at about 9:30 p.m. on suspicion of second degree offenses of robbery, promoting a dangerous drug and possession of drug paraphernalia and third degree promotion of a detrimental drug.

Police said the alleged victim was walking in the Chinatown area when the suspects approached him. The first suspect allegedly held him down as the second searched his pockets, taking $3 in cash.

Police located the suspects a short time later and while searching them found a crack cocaine pipe with residue on one of the suspects and marijuana on the other.
