Baseball: Reds' Harang placed on disabled list

Associated Press

MILWAUKEE — The Cincinnati Reds placed Aaron Harang on the 15-day disabled list and recalled Homer Bailey from Triple-A Louisville to start today's game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Harang's DL stint was made retroactive to Wednesday. The right-hander returned to Cincinnati following Tuesday's 7-3 loss at Chicago. An examination and MRI revealed a strained right forearm.

Harang is 3-11 with a 4.76 ERA in 20 appearances, 19 starts, and is eligible to be reinstated on July 23.

Bailey went 0-3 with an 8.76 ERA in three starts with the Reds last month. The right-hander is 4-7 with a 4.42 ERA in 16 starts at Louisville this year.
