Kaneohe arson suspect charged

Advertiser Staff

Prosecutors today charged a 25-year-old man for allegedly setting a fire and threatening a man with knife during an argument Tuesday night.

Jadon D. Brown was charged with first-degree arson and second-degree terroristic threatening. His bail is $40,000 pending an initial appearance tomorrow at District Court.

Brown was arrested Friday at 5 a.m. at Central YMCA, 401 Atkinson Drive.

According to police, Brown went to the Kane'ohe home of a woman, 61, and man, 25, at 10:10 p.m. During an argument, he allegedly threatened the male victim with a kitchen knife but was convinced to drop the weapon. Brown complied with a request to leave the home, police said.

Brown, however, returned about 15 minutes later and allegedly cut a hole in a screen window and was seen by the woman setting a curtain on fire, police said. The fire was extinguished without causing major damage.
