Big Island police today charged a 27-year-old Waikoloa man with stabbing another man yesterday in Laupahoehoe.

Jonathan F. Teo is accused of first-degree assault and is being held at the Hilo police cellblock in lieu of $10,000 bail. He has a court appearance scheduled tomorrow.

Police said Teo allegedly broke two beer bottles and used them against a man, 34, he had been arguing with at a graduation party. Police responding to a 12:12 a.m. complaint of an affray involving numerous people found the injured man with cuts to his head and neck.

The man was taken to Hilo Medical Center by the Fire Department helicopter and was released from the hospital today.

Two other people suffered minor injuries trying to break up the fight.
