Former University of Hawai'i and Saint Louis School quarterback John Hao has been named new Crusaders football coach, the school announced today.

A former All-State signal-caller, Hao replaces Delbert Tengan, who resigned last month.

Saint Louis lost to Leilehua in the state football championship this past season.

Hao was the quarterback during Saint Louis' dominant years.

In the 1989, Hao led Saint Louis to the Prep Bowl title with a 35-18 victory over Kahuku. Hao passed for 330 yards and four touchdowns in that game.

Hao played quarterback at UH from 1992-95.
