A leaning utility pole forced authorities to evacuate the outdoor tennis and volleyball court areas at Kailua District Park today.

Hawaiian Electric Co. troubleshooters were on scene assessing the situation at 5:15 p.m. Police said South Kainalu Drive between Ku'ulei Road and Ku'upua Street is closed to traffic.

HECO spokesman Darren Pai said there are no power outages in the area.

The Honolulu Fire Department responded to the scene at 4:40 p.m.
