Brittle stars, octopus and sea urchins are just some of the animals to be observed during the Pacific Whale Foundation's full-moon tidepool explorations for adults and children aged 6 and up.

Participants will visit South Maui tidepools with foundation marine educators. Explorations will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 15 and 16, and Sept. 12. A snack and a drink are included, and participants should bring a flashlight and wear sturdy shoes.

The cost is $10 per adult and $5 per child, with advance reservations required. Call 249-8811 to register.
