The Polynesian Cultural Center will host the ninth annual Te Manahua Maori Cultural Competition beginning at 9 a.m. Aug. 9.

National and international adult competitors will vie in chants and traditional dances.

A highlight this year will be performances by Maori groups from London and Australia.

The festival is sponsored in part by the Hawai'i Tourism Authority and the city.

Admission for adults is $8, $5 for keiki 5 to 15 years old and free to children under 5. Kama'aina Annual Pass holders are free.
