Like 'Sunset on the Beach,' but in Makiki

It'll be kind of like a Sunset on the Beach — but staged in the park.

It's "Rediscover O'ahu — Makiki," from 4 to 10 p.m. July 25 and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. July 26 at Makiki District Park, will offer food, entertainment, family fun and free movies.

The event, at 1527 Ke'eaumoku St., is targeted for the Makiki community but open to all.

The highlights:

July 25

4 p.m. — Island Storm

5 p.m. — To be announced

6 p.m. — Blessing of the Makiki Library and the Honolulu Sustainability Center

6:15 p.m. — Simplisity

7:30 p.m. — "Evan Almighty" film

July 26

10 a.m. — von Baron, new age music

11 a.m. — Greg Henry the Salsa Man and his Salsa Kids

Noon — Guy Cruz and Marc Pearlman

1 p.m. — Ken Noyle, magician

2 p.m. — Jake Shimabukuro

3 p.m. — Partners in Time, Balkan Music

4 p.m. — Powerhouse

5 p.m. —Wiki Waki Woo

6 p.m. — Touch of Gold

6:50 p.m. — Frank DeLima

7:15 p.m. — Mayor's program

7:30 p.m. — "Bee Movie"
