Weather: Trades winds will keep things cool

The islands will continue to enjoy trade wind weather through next week as a high pressure area builds far north of the state, the National Weather Service said.

The trades will be breezy at times and showers will remain focused over windward and mauka areas, forecasters said.

Here's how things look leading into the weekend:

Today: Isolated showers after noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 86. East wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 74. East wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 87. East wind between 15 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. East wind around 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Saturday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 87. East wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. East wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
