Weather: A little bit wetter than normal for July

A strong high pressure area far north of the state will keep the trade winds blowing through next week, the National Weather Service said.

There will be a bit more rain than usual, according to the forecast.

Showers will be most frequent over windward areas during night and morning hours and will spread to leeward areas on the smaller islands as well.

Here's a more detailed look at the next few days:

Today: Isolated showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 87. East wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. East wind between 13 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 87. East wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. East wind between 11 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Sunday: Scattered showers, mainly after noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 88. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Sunday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. East wind between 11 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
