NIMES, France — Britain's Mark Cavendish has won his fourth stage in the doping-stained Tour de France.

Cadel Evans kept the yellow jersey by finishing in the main pack after the 113-mile 13th stage from Narbonne to Nimes. The Australian leads Frank Schleck of Luxembourg by one second and Christian Vande Velde of the U.S. by 38.

Earlier, the Saunier Duval team fired Italian rider Riccardo Ricco, winner of the sixth and ninth stages. He was removed from the race Thursday after testing positive for a version of the banned blood booster EPO. He was the third rider to test positive for EPO.
