NHL: Sabres sign goaltender Miller to 5-year extension

Associated Press

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Sabres signed goaltender Ryan Miller today to a five-year contract extension through the 2013-2014 season.

Miller posted a 36-27-10 record in a franchise-high 76 games last season, with a 2.65 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage. He made 34 consecutive starts from Jan. 24 through April 3.

Miller was set to be an unrestricted free agent after the 2008-09 season.

The Sabres drafted Miller in the fifth round in 1999.
