  • Benjamin Parker Elementary

  • Kane'ohe Elementary

  • Lehua Elementary

  • Pearl City High

    The other schools are:

  • Big Island: Ho'okena Elementary and Konawaena Middle;

  • Maui: Lahaina Intermediate;

  • Kaua'i: Koloa Elementary.

    Improvements will include the replacement of light fixtures, windows, flooring, doors, whiteboards, tack boards and room signage, as well as repainting.

    Construction times vary, but are scheduled to begin later this year and be finished early in 2010.

    "We must continue to invest in our schools so that Hawai'i students and teachers have modern and well-equipped facilities in which to teach and learn," Lingle said. "By enhancing our students' education, the entire state benefits."
