INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers' Local 1186 has announced the election of Damien Kim to a three-year term as business manager/financial secretary.

PACIFIC FOCUS

Pacific Focus Inc. has appointed Jason Suapaia as president responsible for overall operations of the production company along with strategic planning and business development. He will also continue as executive producer.

WATTS CONSTRUCTORS

RICHARD CHARLESON has joined Watts Constructors as vice president of its Mainland Federal Group in Denver. He most recently was director of national building for the Walsh Group.

GRASSROOT INSTITUTE OF HAWAII

The Grassroot Institute of Hawaii, a research and public policy think tank based in Honolulu, has named Jamie Story as president and Tom McAuliffe as director of communications.

Story had been an education policy analyst at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, a nonprofit free-market research institute based in Austin.

McAuliffe most recently served as a community relations specialist for a member of the Hawai'i Legislature.

XEROX HAWAII

Xerox Hawaii has appointed Keith Gurney to the newly created position of region services manager.

Before his promotion, Gurney served as Xerox Global Services' business manager, and has been with Xerox Hawaii for more than 24 years.

CB RICHARD ELLIS

CB Richard Ellis has added Mike Pida and Franz "Robi" Solmssen Jr. to its commercial real estate service team in Honolulu and Theresa Coelho to the CBRE Maui office, in Kahului.

Pida joined as a real estate services administrator in asset services. Solmssen is with industrial brokerage services. Coelho is a client services coordinator in brokerage services for the Maui office.

UNIVERSITY OF HAWAI'I ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

The University of Hawai'i Alumni Association board of directors recently announced its new officers. They are: Mitchell Ka'aiali'i, president; Douglas Inouye, first vice president; Patrick Oki, second vice president and treasurer; and Sharene Urukami, secretary.

Ka'aiali'i has been board president of the Shidler College of Business Alumni Association.

Inouye is corporate counsel for the Queen's Health System. Oki is a partner with Grant Thornton LLP, and Urukami is an area retail sales manager for AT&T.
