Top-seeded Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers defeated No. 2-seeded Sean Scott and Nick Lucena, 21-16, 21-12, to win the Brookyn Open men's professional beach volleyball event today at New York.

Dalhausser slammed three straight blocks to open the final match en route to a 90-minute victory and the $25,000 first prize.

"They're like a snowball heading downhill right now," said Scott, a Punahou alum.

Scott and Lucena split $15,000.

Punahou alum Stein Metzger and Mark Williams finished tied for third and earned $9,500, while Kevin Wong, another Punahou alum, and Matt Olson were tied for fifth and earned $6,000.

Dalhausser and Rogers, who are Olympics-bound, have won 8 of 9 AVP Tour events and 45 of their 47 matches.
