The son of former Honolulu Mayor Frank Fasi has been arrested on suspicion of second-degree robbery.

Carl Fasi is the eldest of the former mayor's 11 children.

Police say he was arrested after taking a man's backpack and cane after asking for his money.

A police report says the victim identified his assailant as officers were questioning him for trespassing at a nearby establishment.

Carl Fasi faces charges of contempt and violating terms of his parole.

Carl Fasi has had a history of arrests related to drug use.
