Three women, all in their 20s, were taken to a local area hospital in serious condition after a single-vehicle accident this morning on King Street, Emergency Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic said.

The driver apparently lost control of the vehicle and it rolled a few times before taking out a pole. Police said the downed the pole is affecting services provided by Oceanic, Hawaiian Electric and Hawaiian Tel.

The accident occurred at 1:46 a.m. between Waiakamilo Street and Kalhi Street. As of 6 a.m., HECO and other trouble-shooting crews were still on scene working to fix the pole.
