PRATO NEVOSO, Italy — Frank Schleck of Luxembourg seized the overall lead Sunday in the Tour de France after the 15th stage, which was won by Simon Gerrans of Australia.

Schleck outpaced Cadel Evans up the final climb to wrest the yellow jersey from the Australian. Schleck led Bernhard of Austria by seven seconds in the overall standings while Evans dropped to third, eight seconds behind.

Gerrans led a four-man group that broke away early Sunday in the 114-mile ride from Embrun, France, to Prato Nevoso.

Evans entered the stage one second ahead of Schleck and 38 ahead of Christian Vande Velde of the United States.
