The fourth annual event this year features:

  • Sunday, Sept. 21., 4-8 p.m., at Makaha Resort and Golf Club – Makaha Terrace.

    Hawaiian quilt exhibit and demonstration; Hawaiian grand luau buffet honoring Queen Lili'uokalani; musical presentation about Queen Lili'uokalani and “Kua'aina O Wai'anae performed by the choral ensemble “Kawaiolaonapukanileo” conducted by Nola Nahulu.     The Wai'anae Coast Coalition and Makaha Resort and Golf Club is sponsoring a week-long festival in September featuring cultural exhibits, music and food.

    "Hoike 'Ike 'O Wai'anae" was created to bring the "kaiaulu" or community of Wai'anae together and instill respect, pride and goodwill by perpetuating all cultures of this area, according to organizers.
