Neighbor Islanders can expect traffic delays

NEIGHBOR ISLAND ROADWORK

BIG ISLAND

  • Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) from the Pu‘u Wa‘awa‘a Ranch, near Mile Point 18, to Kaupulehu, near Mile Point 21, for shoulder lane maintenance.

  • Traffic contra-flow on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19). Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., near Honoka‘a from Pa‘auhau to Papalele (Mile Point 39.6 to Mile Point 41.6), intermittent single lane closures for guardrail and shoulder improvements; Near Hakalau Bay (Mile Point 15.54), 24-hour closure of the northbound lane on the Hakalau Bridge continues for bridge repairs.

    MAUI

  • Sunday through Friday morning, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., single lane closure on Honoapi‘ilani Highway in the Lahaina-bound direction from the Olowalu Tunnel (Mile Point 10), to the end of the Pali (Mile Point 11) for fiber optic cable installations (contractor permit work).

  • Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., multiple single lane closures on Haleakala Highway in the westbound direction between Mile Point 1, near the Halemaile Road intersection, and Mile Point 5.25, near the Hana Highway Intersection for pavement reconstruction.

    MOLOKA‘I

  • Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., single lane closures in both directions on Maunaloa Highway between Mile Post 0 and Mile Post 5.5, or pavement resurfacing.

    KAUA‘I

  • Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., intermittent delays of no more than 15 minutes during construction activities at the following locations:

    Kaumuali‘i Highway Lawai — East of the Piko Road Intersection, near Mile Post 9.8, lanes in both directions will be narrowed for permit work on the highway, and west of the Koloa Road Intersection, near Mile Post 10.7, speed limit in this area has been reduced and travel lanes narrowed and shifted temporarily, for shoulder work.

    Kaumuali‘i Highway Kalaheo — Near the Hokua Road intersection, for drainage and shoulder lane improvements.

    Kuhi‘o Highway Anahola— Near the Pili Mai Ke Kai subdivision between Anahola Road and Kukuihale Road for intersection improvements and shoulder maintenance.

    Kuhi‘o Highway North of Kilauea Town — At the Kolo Road intersection for intersection improvements.

    Kuamo‘o Road — Between Kuhio Highway and Lilia Place for shoulder work and shoulder sign repair.
