Things to do around Oahu today

Advertiser Staff

You better do this one quick: Either get to your computer, the phone or to the Stan Sheriff Center box office to get your season tickets to follow the UH women's volleyball team.

The season kicks off Aug. 29 against the reigning national champions, Penn State.

The Rainbow Wahine have six starters back from their conference championship team, including WAC Player of the Year outside hitter Jamie Houston.

The Penn State match is part of the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Classic, a three-day tourney at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Online is the quickest way to purchase today. Go to Hawaiiathletics.com, where you can print your own tickets and manage your own ticket account. You can also call 944-2697, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Season ticket prices range from $165 for lower bowl to $40 for upper bowl for UH students.

If volleyball isn't your thing, than check out Soul Bucket at the Mai Tai Bar from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

If you're in Waikiki and a beginning surfer, better hit the waves today. Tomorrow's surf forecast calls for the big boys to take over, with a new swell expected to bring surf in the 8-foot advisory range.
