Advertiser Staff

Hilo scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh to beat Northern California, 8-7, last night in a Little League Big League (ages 16-18) Western Regional game at Silverdale, Wash.

Geonah Ragual hit a two-run double to cap the comeback for Hilo (3-1), which plays Nevada today in an elimination game.

Kolten Wong walked with the bases loaded to score Hilo's first run of the seventh. Brian Alben hit a three-run double to close Hilo's deficit to 7-6. Later, with runners on second and third and a 2-1 count on Ragual, the lights at Lobe Field went out.

Following a 15-minute delay, Ragual hit the next offering to center to win it.

Earlier in the day, Hilo rallied for six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to eliminate Oregon, 7-4.

Wong hit an RBI double, Courtney Arruda had a run-scoring single and Eric Hernandez capped the big inning with a two-run single as Hilo overcame a 4-1 deficit.
