Kalihi armed robbery suspect, 17, arrested

Police today arrested a 17-year-old boy suspected of being the gunman in an early morning robbery July 15 in Kalihi.

The boy was arrested at 7:25 a.m. for two counts of first-degree robbery. The case will be sent to Family Court for possible charges.

Two women, ages 20 and 19, were confronted by two males on Gulick Avenue and North School Street at 2:30 a.m. while walking home from work. One of the suspects threatened the victims with a gun and took the older woman's handbag.

The second suspect, who is still at large, fled with the younger woman's handbag.
