A 20-year-old Waipahu man arrested yesterday on suspicion of first degree sexual assault was questioned and released pending further investigation at 11:25 a.m.

The female victim told police the alleged assault took place between Jan. 8 and March 8 and that the suspect is an acquaintance.

According to police, the victim disclosed the alleged incident on July 8 to family members. Police were contacted after the family confronted the suspect, who was arrested at his Aniani Place residence shortly after midnight.
