The San Francisco 49ers yesterday signed third-round draft choice Reggie Smith, a cornerback from Oklahoma.

Terms of the contract were not announced.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder was the 75th overall pick. He saw action in 39 games with 36 starts for the Sooners, with 20 of those starts coming at strong safety and 16 at cornerback. Smith earned All-Big Twelve Conference first-team honors as a junior.

Smith's signing leaves the 49ers with just two of the team's six 2008 draft picks unsigned. First-round pick defensive tackle Kentwan Balmer and fourth-round pick center Cody Wallace are the remaining draft selections to be signed.
