Free football clinic set for Palama Settlement

The Palama Settlement will host a free football clinic tomorrow for kids ages 8 to 13.

The clinic will be from 8:15 a.m. to noon at the Palama Settlement gym and field at 810 North Vineyard Boulevard.

Participants must bring their own football shoes and athletic shoes and complete a survey and registration form.

In addition to football, the clinic will focus on academics and staying tobacco-free. University of Hawai'i football players will be at the clinic along with the coaching staff of McKinley High School, as well as U.S. Attorney Ed Kubo.

SWIMMING

DUKE'S SWIM ON AUG. 23

The Duke's Ocean Mile Swim will be Aug. 23 at 9 a.m.

The triangular course will begin and end on the beach fronting Duke's Waikiki.

Age groups include: 14-under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-older.

The entry fee is $25 for entries postmarked by Aug. 15. Late entries, if space allows, will be $30 per person.
