Honolulu's Tadd Fujikawa shot a 2-over-par 74 and was projected to miss the cut by three strokes after the second round of the Nagashima Shigeo Invitational Sega Sammy Cup today at Hokkaido, Japan.

The 17-year-old Moanalua High School junior finished at 3-over 147 after shooting 73 on Wednesday in the Japan Golf Tour Organization tournament at The North Country Golf Club.

Tatsuhiko Takahashi (69) and Sushi Ishigaki (67) shared the lead at 8-under 136.

Fujikawa played the first nine holes at 1-under 35. He bogeyed the par-4 first hole, but birdied the par-3 No. 7 and par-5 No. 9.

He completed the back nine at 3-over 39. He double bogeyed the par-4 No. 11 and bogeyed the par-5 No. 13.

The top 60 and ties made the cut in the 143-player tournament that concludes Sunday. The projected cut line was even-par.

This is Fujikawa's third JGTO event this year. He made the cut in the previous two tournaments and won a total of $5,163.54.

Fujikawa tied for 65th in his last JGTO event, the 2008 Munsingwear Open KSB Cup, in May.

He tied for 48th in The Crowns also in May.
