WAIMANALO/PAPAKOLEA
Meetings will seek input on improving aid to kids

The state Department of Human Services and the Casey Family Programs are seeking community input and discussion on how to best serve Native Hawaiian and part-Hawaiian children in the state Child Welfare System.

Meetings will be held: from 9 to 11:30 this morning at Waimanalo Public and School Library, 41-1320 Kalaniana'ole Highway; and 1 to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 7 at the Papakolea Community Association, 2150 Tantalus Drive.

Research shows that statewide more than half of the children in foster care are Hawaiian or part Hawaiian.

For more information or to attend, contact Arlynna Howell Livingston at 838-7752 or send e-mail to alivingston@epicohana.org.
