Weather: Trades to weaken a bit over the weekend

A high pressure area north of the state will keep the trade winds blowing for the next several days, the National Weather Service said.

Wind speeds will decrease some during the weekend, then pick up again early next week, forecasters said.

Clouds and showers will favor windward and mauka areas.

Here's a closer look at the next few days:

Today: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 85. East wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. East wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 86. East wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday Night: Scattered showers, mainly after midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. East wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 87. East wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. East wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
