Nimitz Highway lanes to be closed for utility work

Advertiser Staff

(Honolulu) -- Hawaiian Electric contractors will be performing utility work on Nimitz Highway from Bethel to River streets, and from Sumner to Kukahi streets from Aug. 4 through Oct. 11, except on Sundays and holidays.

One ewa-bound and one Waikiki-bound lane will be closed in the work area between 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays and from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays.

Traffic signs and cones will be used to ensure safe access through and around the construction area, and special duty police officers will be onsite to provide traffic control.
