A woman inmate who escaped Monday while on court-ordered supervised release from O'ahu Community Correctional Center was captured by police last night in Wai'anae.

Roxanne Pikake Garcia, 21, was arrested without incident by Crime Reduction Unit officers from the District 8 (Kapolei-Wai'anae) at 11:05 p.m. fronting 87-1784 Farrington Hwy.

Garcia was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a relative, police said.

CRU officers had been looking for Garcia since Tuesday night in the Nanakuli area, police said.

Garcia is being held at the main police station cellblock in lieu of $100,000 bail on two warrants, one of which is related to violating her supervised release. She has a court appearance tomorrow.

Garcia was awaiting trial for burglary at OCCC when she fled from her attorney's car Monday at 11:47 a.m. after returning from an assessment meeting at the Hina Mauka substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation facility in Windward O'ahu.

Circuit Judge Richard W. Pollack had granted Garcia supervised release to attend the meeting. Garcia fled from her attorney's car in the parking lot of OCCC.
