Makapuu drowing victim was visitor from Japan

An autopsy today determined a 60-year-old visitor from Japan drowned yesterday while snorkeling yesterday in an area known as "Cockroach Bay" near Makapu'u.

The Honolulu Medical Examiner's office identified the man as Yoshimichi Sasaki, 60. Cause and manner of death was listed as asphyxia due to accidental drowning with other significant conditions being hypertension and cardiomegaly (enlarged heart).
