The Rotary Club of Kapa'a has pushed back the nominations deadline for the second annual 2008 Kauai Green Business Initiative Awards to June 23. The program honors local businesses that in the past year have adopted practices that: efficiently use raw materials, manage waste responsibly, manage shipping responsibly, save water or save energy. Nominees must show how their green initiatives benefit the environment as well as the economic performance and long-term success of their businesses.

Categories include: hotel, retail, activity, builder, home business, grower, technology, non-profit, restaurant, publishing and real estate.
